Terms of Service
Last updated: June 18, 2026
1. Overview
This website is operated by Pretty Things By Katja.
Throughout these Terms of Service, the terms βwe,β βus,β and βourβ refer to Pretty Things By Katja. We provide this website, including the information, digital products, tools, and services available through it, subject to your acceptance of these Terms of Service.
By visiting our website, creating an account, purchasing a product, downloading a digital file, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service and the policies referenced in them.
Please read these Terms carefully before using our website. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the website or purchase our products.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform through which we offer our products.
2. Business Information

3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your country, to place an order.
Where permitted by applicable law, a parent or legal guardian may purchase a product for a minor and is responsible for the minorβs use of the website and product.
You may not use our website or products for an unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorised purpose.
4. Digital Products
All products currently sold through our store are digital products, including crochet patterns, charts, written instructions, printable files, magazines, and related downloadable materials.
No physical item will be shipped.
Photographs showing finished crochet blankets, pillows, garments, decorations, or other completed projects are provided as examples of what may be created using the pattern. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the customer is purchasing a digital pattern, not the finished item shown in the photographs.
The customer is responsible for reading the complete product description before purchasing.
5. Product Descriptions
We make reasonable efforts to describe our products accurately, including information about:
- the type of pattern;
- crochet technique;
- chart or written instructions included;
- approximate dimensions;
- skill level;
- yarn and hook recommendations;
- file type;
- language;
- any software or equipment needed.
Finished results may vary depending on yarn, hook size, gauge, tension, colour choices, technique, substitutions, printing, screen settings, and individual workmanship.
Minor differences between a finished project and the example image do not necessarily mean that the pattern is defective or incorrectly described.
If the information in a specific product listing conflicts with a general statement in these Terms, the specific product description will normally apply to that product, except where this would limit a mandatory legal right.
6. Orders and Contract Formation
By placing an order, you offer to purchase the selected products subject to these Terms.
An order is accepted when we send an order confirmation, make the digital product available, or otherwise begin fulfilling the order.
We may refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
- payment was not authorised;
- incorrect pricing or product information was displayed;
- fraud or unauthorised payment is suspected;
- the order violates applicable law or these Terms;
- a technical error prevented proper processing;
- the product cannot legally be supplied to the customer.
If we cancel a paid order before supplying the product, we will refund the amount paid, unless the payment is subject to a lawful fraud investigation or another legal restriction.
You must provide complete and accurate order and contact information, including an email address that you can access.
7. Prices, Payment, and Taxes
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website.
Applicable taxes may be included in the displayed price or calculated during checkout, depending on the customerβs location and the applicable legal and tax requirements.
Payment is processed through Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout.
We do not normally receive or store your complete payment-card details.
We may change our prices, promotions, or discounts at any time. A price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted, except where the original price resulted from an obvious error and applicable law permits correction.
Discount codes:
- must be used before the order is completed;
- cannot normally be applied retroactively;
- cannot be exchanged for cash;
- may be subject to an expiry date or additional conditions;
- may not be combined unless expressly permitted.
8. Delivery and Access
Digital products are usually delivered by a download link, email, customer account, confirmation page, or digital-delivery application.
Delivery times may be affected by:
- payment processing;
- incorrect email addresses;
- spam filters;
- internet interruptions;
- maintenance;
- third-party service outages;
- security reviews;
- technical problems.
If you do not receive your file, please check your spam or promotions folder and contact us at info.crochetpatterns@gmail.com.
You are responsible for downloading and securely storing your purchased files. Where reasonable, we will assist with restoring access, but we cannot guarantee permanent hosting or unlimited future downloads unless this is stated in the product description.
9. Right of Withdrawal and Refunds
Refunds, cancellations, and withdrawal requests are governed by our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
EU consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for eligible distance contracts. However, for digital content not supplied on a physical medium, the right of withdrawal may end once supply or downloading begins where the customer has expressly agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that this causes the loss of the withdrawal right.
Eligible customers may submit a withdrawal request through the electronic withdrawal function displayed on our storefront.
Submitting a withdrawal request confirms receipt of the request only. It does not automatically approve the request or automatically issue a refund.
Nothing in these Terms or our Return and Refund Policy limits rights relating to faulty, incorrectly supplied, or materially misdescribed digital content where those rights apply under law.
10. Custom and Personalised Patterns
Where we offer custom or personalised digital patterns, the customer is responsible for supplying accurate, complete, and lawful instructions, images, text, and other materials.
The customer confirms that they have the necessary permission or legal right to provide and use any submitted photographs, names, logos, artwork, text, or other content.
We may refuse material that we reasonably believe:
- infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or personality rights;
- is illegal, threatening, hateful, abusive, or obscene;
- cannot reasonably be converted into the requested pattern;
- does not meet the technical requirements of the service.
The customer must review any preview or proof carefully. Approval of a preview confirms acceptance of the visible design, spelling, colours, composition, and other approved details.
Unless otherwise agreed, substantial changes requested after approval may require an additional fee.
Cancellation and withdrawal rights for personalised work may be restricted once work begins at the customerβs request, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Licence to Use Digital Products
Purchasing a digital product gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the product according to these Terms and any additional licence terms included in the product listing or file.
Unless a product states otherwise, you may:
- download and store the file for your own use;
- print reasonable copies for your own use;
- use the pattern to create finished handmade items;
- sell finished items that you personally make in small quantities.
You may not:
- copy, share, forward, upload, publish, distribute, or resell the digital file;
- provide the pattern to another person, group, class, club, website, or file-sharing service;
- sell or distribute altered, translated, traced, recreated, or reformatted versions of the pattern;
- convert the pattern into another file format for redistribution;
- include the pattern in a bundle, membership, course, kit, database, or collection without written permission;
- claim the pattern, chart, photographs, wording, or design as your own;
- use automated systems, scraping tools, artificial-intelligence training systems, or data-mining tools to extract or reproduce our protected content without permission;
- remove copyright notices or other ownership information from the file;
- use one purchase as a commercial licence for employees, contractors, production teams, or mass manufacturing.
A separate licence may be required for teaching, commercial production, publication, or other extended use. Contact us before using a product for those purposes.
12. Intellectual Property
The website and its original content, including crochet patterns, charts, written instructions, graphics, photographs, text, branding, page design, downloadable files, and compilations, are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Purchasing or downloading a product does not transfer copyright, ownership, trademark rights, or other intellectual-property rights to the purchaser.
βPretty Things By Katjaβ and associated branding may not be used in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation.
Suspected unauthorised copying or distribution may result in termination of access and appropriate legal action.
13. Customer Accounts
Where customer accounts are available, you are responsible for:
- providing accurate information;
- keeping your password and login details secure;
- restricting unauthorised access to your account;
- promptly notifying us of suspected misuse.
We may suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, security threats, illegal activity, or repeated violations of these Terms.
Closing an account does not erase transaction records that we are legally required or permitted to retain.
14. Reviews, Comments, and Customer Content
You may submit reviews, photographs, comments, feedback, or other content where the website allows it.
You confirm that content you submit:
- is accurate and based on a genuine experience;
- does not infringe another personβs rights;
- does not contain illegal, defamatory, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or malicious material;
- does not contain viruses, spam, misleading links, or harmful code;
- does not impersonate another person.
You retain ownership of your original content.
By submitting content for publication, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, format, and use that content for operating and promoting our store, unless you tell us otherwise where applicable.
We may moderate or remove customer content where reasonably necessary, but we are not required to publish every submission.
We will not claim ownership of private custom-pattern photographs or other materials merely because you send them to us for order fulfilment.
15. Marketing Communications
Where you subscribe to our newsletter or marketing communications, you agree to receive promotional emails from us.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in the email.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary transactional messages about purchases, downloads, customer support, security, or legal requests.
Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
16. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may use or link to third-party services, including Shopify, payment processors, digital-delivery applications, analytics services, email providers, social-media platforms, and other websites.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of an independent third-party website that we do not control.
This does not exclude responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Website Availability and Technical Issues
We aim to keep the website and digital-delivery services available, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed.
We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, updates, security, technical problems, legal requirements, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a technical issue prevents delivery of a purchased product, we will make reasonable efforts to restore access, resend the product, supply a working replacement, or provide another remedy required by law.
18. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the website or our products:
- for unlawful or fraudulent activity;
- to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- to distribute malicious software;
- to interfere with website security or operation;
- to scrape, harvest, or collect data without permission;
- to send spam or deceptive communications;
- to impersonate another person;
- to make unauthorised purchases or payment claims;
- to gain access to another customerβs account or files;
- to redistribute purchased digital products;
- to harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm another person.
We may restrict access where we reasonably believe these rules have been violated.
19. Disclaimer Relating to Crochet Results
Crochet patterns require the customer to interpret and follow written instructions, symbols, charts, colour changes, gauge information, and technique recommendations.
We do not guarantee that every customer will achieve an identical finished result.
The customer is responsible for selecting suitable materials and using tools safely.
Our products are provided for creative and informational purposes. They are not professional medical, safety, engineering, childcare, or product-certification advice.
Finished items intended for babies, young children, pets, or other vulnerable users should be made and used with appropriate safety precautions, including the secure attachment of parts and avoidance of unsuitable materials.
20. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We are not responsible for losses caused by:
- incorrect information supplied by the customer;
- failure to read the product description;
- incompatible software or devices;
- lost login details;
- customer alterations to the file;
- unauthorised sharing;
- deviations in yarn, gauge, tension, tools, or technique;
- third-party outages that we could not reasonably prevent.
Where liability may legally be limited, our total liability relating to a particular purchase will not exceed the amount paid for that purchase.
This limitation does not apply where applicable law provides the customer with a greater mandatory remedy.
21. Indemnity for Business or Unlawful Use
Where permitted by law, a person using our website or products for business purposes agrees to compensate us for reasonable losses, claims, and expenses caused by their unlawful use, infringement of third-party rights, or material breach of these Terms.
This section does not reduce the statutory rights of consumers.
22. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described in our privacy information and cookie-preference tools.
23. Changes to Products and Services
We may add, update, replace, or discontinue products and website features.
Discontinuing a product does not remove rights relating to an order already accepted.
We may update digital files to correct errors or improve clarity. Updated files may differ slightly from an earlier version while preserving the essential product purchased.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our products, business practices, technology, or legal obligations.
The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
Changes will apply prospectively from the date they are published. They will not retroactively remove rights that arose under an already completed purchase.
Where legally required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
25. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be interpreted or limited only to the extent necessary, and the remainder of the Terms will continue to apply.
26. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived the right to enforce it later.
27. Governing Law and Consumer Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia.
If you are a consumer residing in another country, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protections provided by the laws of your country of residence.
Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory laws or the right to bring a dispute before a court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
28. Complaints and Disputes
Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve any concern:
info.crochetpatterns@gmail.com
Include your name, order number, and a clear description of the issue.
You may also have the right to contact a competent consumer-protection body or court in your country.
29. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the policies and product-specific terms referenced on our website, form the agreement governing your use of the store and purchase of our products.
If a mandatory legal right conflicts with these Terms, the mandatory legal right will prevail.
