Finished size
Finished size depends on your individual tension, yarn, and hook. Based on my standard gauge:
-
#3 yarn + 3 mm hook: approximately 24" × 32" (61 × 80 cm) – a great size for a rectangular pillow.
-
#4 yarn + 4 mm hook: approximately 50" × 40" (127 × 102 cm) – a great size for a blanket.
Standard Gauge #3: 25 stitches × 19 rows = 4" × 4" with #3 yarn and a 3 mm hook.
Standard Gauge #4: 12 stitches × 15 rows = 4" × 4" with #4 yarn and a 4 mm hook.
Approximate yardage
You may need extra yarn because the unused color is carried through the work.
-
Orange: ~844 m / 923 yd for the front, plus ~990 m / 1,086 yd for the pillow back (in my case, approximately 6 × 50 g skeins for each portion)
-
Black: ~145 m / 159 yd (approximately 1 × 50 g skein in my case)
Yarn requirements are approximate and will vary with yarn brand, hook size, gauge, and your chosen finishing method.
C2C version also available separately.
